学生心理咨询

The 火博体育 学生心理咨询 provides free, solution-focused personal counseling for currently enrolled students at SJC. Students include all persons who are registered in a 火博体育 credit class. 成人基础教育, 通识教育, 火博体育高中, and Dual Credit students are included in this definition.


咨询 Services provides the following:

  • 危机干预
  • 焦虑的心理咨询, 抑郁症, 创伤, 性侵犯, 家庭暴力, 孤独, 的关系问题, 悲伤和失落, 家庭压力, 性取向, 乡愁, 高校相关过渡, 以及个人成长和发展
  • Teaching skills development for academic success, 比如考试焦虑, 压力管理, 时间管理, 应对技能和自尊. 
  • Assessment and referral to other campus and community resources
  • Mental health consultation, education, and outreach programs for students, faculty, and staff. 

It is recommended that students make appointments for all counseling sessions in order to confirm that a counselor will be available to them. Crisis situations will be handled as quickly as possible by a counselor.

There are several ways to schedule an appointment

  1. The most convenient method for many students is to call 学生心理咨询 directly at (505) 566-4255
  2. Students can stop by 学生心理咨询 in-person to schedule an appointment. The 学生心理咨询 Center is located in the Health Science Center, room 3409.
  3. Students may send 学生心理咨询 an email request from their 火博体育 email accounts to: counseling4mentalhealth@uaswc.net.

If a student has a scheduled appointment with a counselor and needs to reschedule the appointment, please call or email 学生心理咨询 with 24 hour advance at (505) 566-4255 or counseling4mentalhealth@uaswc.net. This allows us to use the time for others. Please know that we work hard to accommodate the needs of all students on campus and that each appointment is important. Your communication and patience is greatly appreciated.

Virtual Care Group - FREE Telehealth Services

ULifeline心理健康检查 - FREE online resource center

ULifeline心理健康检查 ULifeline是一个综合性的, 保密, online resource center where students can feel comfortable searching for the information they need regarding mental and emotional health. Take a look around and explore what ULifeline has to offer!

All interactions with counseling services are 保密. 这包括日程安排, 出席, 会议内容, 咨询的进展, 还有你的咨询记录. No record of counseling is contained in any academic, educational, or job placement file. 由学生自行决定, they may request that a counselor release specific information about their counseling sessions to designated entities. This must be done in writing on a Release of Information form.

  • If there is evidence of clear and imminent danger of harm to self and/or others – a counselor is legally required to report this information to the authorities responsible for ensuring public safety.
  • New Mexico state law requires that anyone who learns of or strongly suspects physical or sexual abuse, or neglect of any person under 18 years of age or of an elder adult, must report this information to appropriate authorities.
  • A court order issued by a judge may require a counselor to release information contained in records and/or require a counselor to testify in a court hearing.
  • Counselors may consult with other counselors to provide the best possible care. These consultations are for quality assurance of services and professional purposes only.

There are multiple reasons for referring clients to community-based therapists. The following reasons are the most common:

  • Multiple issues that will likely require extensive therapy

  • Inpatient psychiatric treatment is required

  • Student will be finishing degree or certificate program and be leaving SJC before a reasonable course of treatment can be provided at SJC
